Bonsoir!

School is quite busy - very busy indeed actually, but sort of in a nice way. I am rather enjoying it ( TO SOME EXTENT ARGHHH). I've literally got every day booked solid till like three weeks ahead with everything from attending board meetings, going to the theatre, and seeing friends to studying, studying, and more studying.
I cut my hair yesterday, chopped off a good 10 + centimetres, and blegh, it's quite mundane. But on the other hand it is quite preppy :D pictures to come!
Just wanted to hi and yes I am alive ^^

Koulussa on melko kiireistä - todella kiireistä oikeastaan, mutta oikeastaan kivalla tavalla. Nautin siitä (TIETTYYN PISTEESEEN SAAKKA ARGHHH). Kalenteri on joka päivälle täynnä seuraavan kolmen viikon ajaksi. Kaikkea hallituksen kokouksista teatteriin, kavereiden kanssa hengailua ja opiskelua, opiskelua, opiskelua. Leikkautin hiukset eilen, annoin naksauttaa 10+ senttiä pois ja meh, on nää aika tylsät. Mutta toisinaan jotenkin 'sofistikoituneet' :D kuvia tulossa
Niin, halusin vaan sanoa moi ja kyllä olen vielä elossa ^^

London amazes me everytime. Each time I go I meet new people, see new places, and experience new amazing things. This time I fell in love with the English countryside, peeped in Oxford, met new wonderful people and spent the best New Year's EVER! I have no words for the love I've developed for England - it's simply beautiful, and I feel lovelier than ever there.

Lontoo jaksaa aina ihmetyttää. Jokaisella matkalla tapaan uusia ihmisiä, näin uusia paikkoja ja koen kaikkea aivan uutta ja ihanaa. Tällä kertaa rakastuin Englannin maaseutuun, piipahdin Oxfordissa, tapasin ihania uusia ihmisiä ja vietin parhaan uuden vuoden IKINÄ! En voi sanoin kuvailla sitä rakkautta, jonka on kehittynyt Englannin ja minun välille - siellä on niin kaunista ja tunnen oloni aina yhä ihanammaksi kuin aikaisemmin.

My best friend and I did what we do best - explored aimlessly. This meaning we hopped on a tube and got off somewhere. This time somewhere was near St. Paul's Cathedral and other lovely spots.

We spent a few days in the countryside, in Cotswolds and it was simply enchanting. The lush fields of grass and mud, along with lambs and lovely houses just added up in this irresistible country charm :3

It was just gorgeous- a tranquil English hamlet. We took long walks and it was so horribly windy! Our hotel room was just beautiful; I shared with my best friend (:

An endless night of talking, warm socks and tea ♥

Back in London I spent my days hanging time with awesome people and doing a bit of shopping. I say HAAAYY to the New Year at a friend's house and just had such a great time! Met so many cool English people and AH the accents! Dear lordy I love listening to them enunciate ♥

Lontoossa vietin loput päivät mahtavien ihmisten seurassa hengaillen ja pientä shoppailua suorittaen. Uuden vuoden otin vastaan kaverilla, ja vitsit kun oli kivaa! Tapasin huimasin mahtavia englantilaisia tyyppejä ja AH ne aksentit! Vitsit miten ihanaa on kuunnella niiden rupattelua ♥

The London post is still on the way, however I wanted to write a short hello in the mean time. I wore my reindeer sweater along with a plaid skirt and some L.K. Bennett loafers I picked up in London (eeh!). It has been super snowy and wonderful- winter at last! Buuttt as usual I am just unbelievably cold all the time arrr...

I am back from London and am just generally feeling all around amazing and so excited for the new year!

There is something that I've noticed lately. A lot of the people I know and see on the streets are wearing too_much_makeup! So many girls I know have fabulous features and beautiful faces to work with, but many succeed to ruin it all by packing on too much product! Many of us have forgotten about the wonders of being natural and embracing what God gave you (:
So I thought I'd do a simple makeup look with a tad of glitter, blush, and mascara- if you want ;)
You can add little things and be festive without overdoing it!
Lets start out with a fresh face- no makeup, just moisturizer.

Hey!
So, some of you might be wondering where I've been.
As you may have guessed the answer is quite simple: IB.
Well maybe not IB, maybe the naive-spring-maria who decided to overload this term with course-on-toppa-course-on-toppa-course resulting in disaster. I had three foreign languages at once; French, Italian, and Swedish- that basically meant four words tests a week. I had my HL Maths preparatory course, which was basically 2-4 hours of math per day for dumdums like me. Also I had a lovely IB-style history course, which generally meant the teacher e-mailing us essay assignments on Sunday night- to be turned in the next morning of course. So all in all, it wasn't IB's fault, it was mine. By piling on electives like Italian, French and drama (got chosen to be head director) along with really tedious courses at once I managed to really tire myself out.
All in all, I had school from 8 to 5 everyday, carrying an eight course load.

The first couple of weeks I was doing fine, got all my work done and everything. But eventually I started to lose a lot of sleep, started to lose motivation and began falling asleep at school, the bus, the floor, everywhere.
After being accustomed to 4-6 hours of sleep, surprise surprise, I got sick. And being me, I refused to miss school and that resulted me coughing my soul out in each class, popping painkillers and antibiotics and taking two and half weeks to heal. On top of this, the arts teachers at my school decided to put me in various school performances, singing with the last droplets of my voice :(

I am a clean person, so my room was sad to be treated like that. But yeah, that was every night.

That was my next-day-due essay at 12 am (turned out nine pages...)

I managed my time really badly during exam week and did quite poorly on my exams :/
How poorly? I'll find out on Monday when we get everything back. Shivers.

Okay, I had a rough time. We all have rough times. I am fine now, after sleeping excessive amounts, gobbled up way too much chocolate and watched way too much television.
IB will be way harder, and the term coming up will only be a bit easier. But here's my new motto:

So, I suppose you might get it now :)
And to end with something...bad.

Okay so I realize this clip is bad.

The singing is at too high and its shakey and offkey.
The lyrics are wrong! (ha!)
The quality is bad.
But all in all, in all its horrible imperfections this perfectly sums up how I've been feeling lately.
This was right after I had royally screwed up my HL prep math exam and I look exactly how I felt.

Yes, I'm still alive... juust barely ^-^
I haven't blogged in a month and that honestly saddens me to the bone. We'll talk about why I was away later.
In summary, I haven't had a life, not really a minute to myself during the past month.
Now I am finally free! Exam week has ended and it's time for me to start sleeping off my ridiculous sleep debt.
Happy Thanksgiving by the way! I celebrated mine a week a go at my house, with a group of marvelous people, family, and heavenly food.

Toka jakso on aivan käsittämätön, joka päivä koulua kahdeksasta viiteen, eikä ainuttakaan hypäriä. Voin aivan rehellisesti kertoa teille, että päiväni kulu on yksinkertainen:
ryömi pois sängystä - syö - 4 h oppitunteja - syö - 4 h oppitunteja - (harrastukset) - tee läksyjä - syö - ryömi takaisin sänkyyn.
Vielä neljä viikkoa jäljellä tätä loputonta rummutusta...
Joka tapauksessa tavoitteena olisi viikonloppuna päästä postailemaan!

Hello beautiful! I am so sorry for my lack of posting, but I have a definite reason : IB.
My second term is absolutely ridiculous. I have lessons from eight to five every day, and no skips. I can honestly describe my everyday life as simply as this:
crawl out of bed - eat - 4 h of lessons - eat - 4 h of lessons - (hobbies) - do homework - eat - crawl back into bed.
I still have four full weeks of this...
In any case, I will post over the weekend!

And I couldn't agree more. The flowing energy and colour of the streets is contagious and I can't help but feel happy there. I had the most wonderful time! I got to see my best friend, who I had dearly missed and I swear my cheeks are still in pain from laughing so much. (:
During the days we galloped around town, admiring this and that, rolling in leaves and entering little cozy shops
- and the evenings I met new and warm fantastic people and went through a pile of dvd's while curled up on the sofa.

Samuel Johnson sanoi kerran, että jos ihminen on kyllästynyt Lontooseen, hän on kyllästynyt elämään. Olen täysin samaa mieltä. Katujen värit ja virtaava energia ovat tarttuvia. Lontoossa olen onnellinen.

Matkani oli mitä ihanin! Sain nähdä parasta ystävääni, jota olenkin ikävöinyt kovasti ja vannon, että posket aristaa vieläkin kun tuli naurettua niin paljon. (:

Viikonloppuni oli mitä ihanin! Perjantai-illan vietin yhden parhaimpien kavereiden kanssa; nukahdin sängylle katsoessani wall-e'tä iso suklaa mousse-kulho kainalossa. Lauantaina huhkin salilla koko päivän ja vietin iltani viiden ihanan tyttöni kanssa. Vitsi mitä upeita ihmisiä mun elämässä onkaan! (:
Tänään kauden viimeinen kierros golfia vanhempien kanssa ja ylellistä löhöilyä (krhm vrt. viime viikko)

My weekend was the loveliest! I spent Friday night with one of my best friends; I fell asleep on her bed watching Wall-e with a pint of of chocolate mousse next to me. I spent Saturday in the gym getting my ass kicked by the treadmill and enjoyed my night with five of my lovely girlfriends. Ah, what wonderful people I have in my life ! (: Today I played my last round of golf of the season with my parents and luxuriously flopped around the house for the rest of the evening.
With this new energy I can handle tomorrow (we get all our exams back) and begin the year's most difficult term!

Koeviikko tuli ja meni, ja vietin juuri mitä ihanimman viikonlopun.
Kokeiden suma ei ollut uutta, enkä yllätyksekseni stressannut ollenkaan! Mutta toisin kuin peruskoulussa, IB'llä on tavoitteet ja odotukset korkeammalla, ja niitä myöden työmäärä potenssiin ÄÄÄH. Siinä se viikko meni, luin paljon ja nukuin vähän, erittäin vähän. Viimeistään loppuviikosta kofeiinikapseli oli paras kaveri <3
Tässä Ellan kanssa hölmöiltiin pari viikkoa sitten (:

Exam came and went and I just spent the most wonderful weekend.
The backlog of exams (one every day) wasn't new and to my surprise, I didn't stress at all! But unlike secondary school, in IB my expectations and goals are higher so naturally my amount of work is last yr to power of mehmehmäöäöä. Thank god its now over. I studied a lot and slept a little- very little. At the end of the week caffeine capsules were my best friends <3

Turhauttavan koulupäivän jälkeen tänään oli ihana loikkia sohvalle, vetäistä villasikat jalkaan ja käpertyä tyynykasaan piiloon maailmalta, sillä kaikilla meillä on niitä päiviä, jolloin 1+1 on aivan varmasti 3.
Lisään tähän kuvia toissaviikonlopustani, jolloin heiluin Turussa, FIBS'in (Finnish International Baccalaureate Society) kokouksessa, joka oli pikemminkin yhden yön leiri. Tapasin paljon mielettömiä uusia ihmisiä ja valvoin koko yön. Soitin pianoa ja lauloin antaumuksella Adelea viideltä aamulla ja painin kaikki jätkän kumoon, hahhaa! Heiluttiin kaikki Turun Norssissa, terkkuja siellä koulunsa käyville!

After a frustrating school day it was lovely to collapse on the couch wearing wool socks and curl under a blanket, hiding from the world. We all have our days, when 1+1 is certainly three.
I'm adding some pics of my weekend two weeks a go at an IB meetup set up by the Finnish International Baccalaureate Society. I stayed up the whole night, played piano and sang Adele at five am and won all the dudes in wrestling, ha! I met so many amazing people from all over Finland.

Today, ten years a go, the world changed.
Back then I was a little girl, six years of age and innocent as heck.
I remember the day so clearly.
I was living in Seattle, and even though it was cross the country, everyone knew someone who was somehow involved in the tragedy. Kids and teachers cried at my school and all we did was watch television with terrified eyes.
At age six, I obviously didn't understand the massive impact it would make and the consequences that lay ahead of us, but now looking back, at age sixteen; it was the start of a war, the start of painful 'strip down' airport security and hundreds of other things. Even though this is something completely off-topic for my blog,
it is really important to me, and that's why I want to go back ten years time and pay my respects for the innocent lives lost.

Kymmenen vuotta sitten tänään maailma muuttui.
Olin silloin viattomaakin viaton kuusivuotias pikkutyttö.
Muistan päivän niin tarkasti.
Asuin silloin Seattlessa, ja vaikka olin maan toisella puolella, kaikki tunsivat jonkun, joka oli jotenkin ollut yhteydessä katastrofiin. Luokkalaiseni ja opettajani itkivät koulussa, eikä tehty muuta kuin katsottu telkkaria silmät pyöreinä.
Kuusivuotiaana, en tietenkään ymmärtänyt tapahtuvan massiivista vaikutusta maailmaan, enkä seuraamuksia, joita tulevaisuudessa tulisi. Nyt, kymmenen vuotta ymmärrän sen olleen sodan alku ja satojen muiden asioiden alkutekijä. Vaikka aihe ei liity mitenkään blogiini, se on todella tärkeä minulle. Siksi halusin palata vuosikymmenen taaksepäin ja kunnioittaa viattomia henkensä menettäneitä.

Kouluun piti tänään raahautua vasta puoli yhdeksi ja AH mitä myöhään heräämisen autuutta!
Ekaa kertaa viikkoon sai kunnolla unta kaaliin, ihii! Iltapäivä vierähti Ellan, el maco jr.'n ja puolitoista tuntia kestävien enkunläksyjen kanssa. Opettajan mielestä on hauskaa kuormittaa noin kuuden tunnin yhteisläksyt, aah. Heitin kaulukset korviin ja hipsin kouluun ihanan virkeänä.

School started at 12.30 today and AH the bliss of getting up late!
I slept for the first time in like a week, ehee!
I spent my afternoon with Ella, a chicken burger and 90 min worth of mean english homework. The teacher thinks its amusing to shower us with 6 h worth of work. WOO!
Outfit wise, I just plopped up my collar and skipped to school all cheery and well rested.

Vietin mahtavan viikonlopun fellow iippareiden kanssa Turussa, ja tänään koitti paluu 'normaalien' ihmisten keskuuteen. Eiku mitä? ;) Noin tuntia lukuunottamatta kokonaan valvottu lauantaiyö potki vähän pepulle tänään, mutta eskimojäätelön ja kahvin voimalla eteenpäin!
Nahkasaappaat pääsi taas pitkästä aikaa jalkaan ja parikseen vähän chloé-esque kontrastia valkoisella mekkosella ja bleiserillä.

I just spent a fantastic weekend with my fellow IB'ers at a meeting in Turku and today it time to go back amongst the 'normal people'. No, what? ;) After staying up the whole night on Saturday, fatigue kicked my ass today. But with the aid of strawberry ice cream and caffeine I strived on!
I wore some leather boots and paired them a chloé esque type contrast with a white bustier dress and classy blazer.

The pitter patter of raindrops inspired me to slip into something more comfortable and from the autumnal color palette. Fluffy socks in heels and an oversized cardigan matches my 'oh-so-boho' hairstyle, that actually seriously needs a trim and color (and a brush!)...
School pressure of the day has officially been filled and I am currently staring at some not-so-polite chem homework, and it will not smile at me!

Tänään satoi, ei vaaleanpunaista, eikä sinistä sadetta vaan kaikkein kaihoisinta; harmaata sadetta. Siitä huolimatta otettiin Ellan kanssa ilo irti ja mentiin viisaina tyttöinen kuvailemaan tonne kaatosateeseen ja päättyi litimärkyyteen. Yey!
Lätäköiden ylihyppely ja märän tukan puristelu ei haitannut, sillä en ollut sitäkään päässyt tekemään aikoihin.

It rained today, and it wasn't blue or pink rain, it was the worst; grey rain.
Nevertheless I made the most of it- Ella and I made the wise choice to go out photographing in the pouring rain and eventually got soaked. Yey!
Jumping puddles and scrunching wet hair was alright, since I hadn't done it in a while.

Hey!
Koulunalku on ollut yllättävän intensiivinen. Toisinaan olen kyllä ollut super innoissani tietyistä aineista ja uusista luokkalaisistani, jotka ovat mahtavia tyyppejä! Ne on niin älykkäitä, että tulee ihan nuijapää fiilis ^^
Mutta kaikki tämä koulutyö sai minut ajattelemaan tyyliäni, ja mihin suuntaan haluan pukeutumista muuttaa.
Olen jutskaillut teille preppy-jutuista aikaisemminkin, mutta tämä inspiroi minua juuri nyt.
Koska olen tavallaan shoppailulakossa, ainoa asia tässä joka minun tekee mieli ostaa on lämmin palmikkoneule...
Mutta oih, kun kaikki tässä näyttää niin ihanalta!

The beginning of school has been surprisingly intense. Then again, I have been super excited about certain subjects and my new classmates who are amazing! They're all so smart I feel like a tadpole around them ^^
But all these academics made me think of what I'll be wearing whilst doing them! I've already discussed preppy things with you guys earlier, but I have really chosen a direction for this autumn. Since I'm currently on a shopping strike, I suppose the only thing I feel like buying is one of those lovely cable-knit sweaters... But nevertheless, all this looks wonderful!

Viisaan logiikkani mukaan on mukavinta aloittaa matkareportaasi viimeisestä, mutta myös lempimatkakohteestani, nimittäin valojen kaupungista! Pariisilla on aina ollut tärkeä paikka sydämessäni, mutta tällä kertaa minulla oli mahdollisuus tutustua kaupunkiin pikkutarkasti. Yllättävää sinänsä, että hurmaannuin täysin.
Olen täyshölmö mielikuville; istua katukahvilassa ja hörppiä café au lait'ä, hypellä Champs-Elysées'llä, lukea Proustia romanttisella puistonpenkillä, pyöriskellä katulamppujen varassa, rikkoa lusikalla crème brûléen karamellipinta ja huristella alas katuja vespalla rakkaan kainalossa. Elin useimmat päiväuneni, eikä sitä tunnetta voi päihittää mikään. (Mikä harmi ettei vespalla huristelu kullan kainalossa käynyt toteen (; )
Erikoisempien toiveideni lisäksi kiersimme monet perusnähtävyydet, shoppailimme (paljon...), söimme kuin huomista ei tulisikaan ja olimme jatkuvasti äimällämme ympäristöstämme.

According to my wise logic, it is nicest to begin my travel report with my last and favorite destination. I'm rambling on about the city of lights! Paris has always had a special place in my heart, but this time I had the chance to get to know the city in detail. Surprisingly enough, I was completely enchanted.
I'm a big sucker for visualizing things in my mind, little scenes of life. Like sitting at a sidewalk café sipping a café au lait or skipping down the Champs-Elysées, reading Proust on a romantic park bench, spin 'round of street lights, cracking the caramel surface of a crème brûlée and riding down the streets on a vespa with your lover. I made most of my lovely daydreams come true and living them was amazing. (Too bad I couldn't ride down the streets on a vespa with a lover though (; )
We hit a lot of the basic sights, in addition to some specific ones, shopped (a lot...), ate like there was tomorrow and basically just were constantly amazed with our surroundings.

Olen elänyt elämää. Nautiskellut olemattomasta unirytmistäni ja viettänyt aikaa upeiden ihmisten kanssa, kuunnellut mahtavaa musiikkia ja lukenut koskettavia kirjoja. Kesä lähenee uhkaavasti loppuaan, mutta olen täysin omistautunut luomaan yhä enemmän ihania kesämuistoja.

I have been living the life. I've enjoyed my nonexistent sleeping pattern and spent time with amazing people, listened to beautiful music and read deep books. My summer rhythm is off the wall, staying up till the sunrise and getting up after noon. It's such an amazing feeling to know I'm never procrastinating, because during the school year, that is all I ever do.

Bonjour!

Tähän astinen kesäni on ollut fantastista aikaa. Olen viettänyt lukemattomia päiviä ja iltoja Helsingistä haltioituneena. Öinen Helsinki on ollut kesän kauniimpia näkyjä; kävelyjä Töölönlahden rannalla auringonlaskun aikaan, illanviettoa Kaivopuistossa viheriöiden keskellä, matkailua Suomenlinnan lautalla auringon laskiessa, hyppelyä Espan käytävällä ja loiskimista Havis Amandalla. En ole koskaan aikaisemmin viettänyt näin pitkää aikaa kotikaupungissani kesällä ja olen onnekseni nauttinut joka hetkestä! Olen huomannut olevani ikuinen kaupunkityttö, sillä tykkään nukahtaa öisin autojen hurinaan.
Mikään ei voi toisinaan päihittää kuu-uinteja ja aamuyön kävelyitä mökillä. Ja hei mansikoita ja herneitä! :D

My summer so far has been fantastic. I have spent countless days and evenings in Helsinki, completely enchanted. Helsinki by night has been one of the loveliest sights; walks on the coast of Töölö Bay, spending the evening at Well Park in the midst of greens, taking the Suomenlinna ferry at sunset, skipped on the Esplanade and splashed around in the Havis Amanda fountain. I have spent such a long time in my hometown in the summer and have enjoyed each moment! I have found that I'm an eternal city girl; by night I like to fall asleep to the gentle rumble of cars.
Nevertheless, not many things can compare to going on moonlight swims in the lake and taking night walks in the country. And hey strawberries and peas! :D

Olen palannut vihdoinkin kotiin mökkeilyltä ja olen innoissani valmis postailemaan!
Olin erittäin viisas shoppailija kesäkuussa ja ostin vain muutaman jutskan. Tämä ihana turkoosi mekko kiinnitti huomioni enkä voinut vastustaa! Valkosiniraidallinen mekko on "Pariisi-mekkoni", joten ristin tämän "Lyon-mekokseni". En jaksa odottaa Ranskan matkaani tänä kesänä! Ihii!

I am finally home from spending time in various summer houses and am excited to post yet again!
I was a very wise shopper in June and only bought a couple of things from the sales. This lovely turquoise dress caught my eye and I just couldn't resist getting it for myself.
Since the white and blue stripey dress is my "Paris" dress, this one is more suitable to act as my "Lyon" dress.
I cannot wait for our trip to France this summer!
I paired the dress with some flashy earrings and merciful flats for the Helsinki night. Tangerine nail varnish to match!

I apologize for my absence, but I have been spending my entire week at summer houses and enjoyed summer with every inhale. Midnight skinny dipping, enjoyed the taste of sweet strawberries and chocked up marvellous literature. I love summer! I'll be returning home by the end of the week and will tell all about the fun things I've been up to ^.^

Minulla on fantastinen fiilis, mieletön Duracell pupu vaihe menossa! Kesälomalla olen joka päivä noussut viimeistää kahdeksalta ja tehnyt päivittäin jotain töitä.
Rakastan töitä! Ja kuntosalia, ahh! Olen käynyt nyt joka toinen päivä ja siitä saa aivan uudenlaista puhtia ja energiaa. Sauna kunnon treenin jälkeen on taivaallinen keksintö. Yhtenä päivänä olin salilla jo kymmentä vaille seitsemän aamulla!
Myönnetään, en ole nukkunut kauheasti, mutta sosiaalisen elämäni perässä pysyminen vie aivan liikaa aikaa!
Tunnen olevani ihanassa saippuakuplassa, enkä tahtoisi millään poksauttaa sitä ^^
Tänään puskin kahdeksan tuntia toimistolla, kävin sushilla kavereiden kanssa ja hyppelehdin illaksi toisen kaverin kanssa. Pidän itseni jatkuvasti kiireisenä ja rakastan sitä!

I feel fantastic! I have this major Duracell bunny phase going on at the moment!
Every day of summer holiday I have woken up no later than 8 o'clock and have been doing some form of work.
I love going to work! And I'm crazy about the gym too! I have been going every other day and it makes me feel amazing. Hitting the sauna after a crazy workout feels completely awesome. This one day, I was there at 6.50 in the morning!
Sure, I haven't slept that much, but I'm way too busy with my social life!
I'm in this lovely bubble and have no desire to pop it ^^
Today I pushed an eight hour work day at the office, then had sushi with a couple friends and flew off to the gym with another friend. I'm keeping myself super busy and am somehow loving it.

Synttärini pyyhkäisivät ohi ja kuusitoista vuotta tuli täyteen! Ikääntyminen tulee vanhetessa aina vähemmän merkittäväksi ja oman suloisen kuudentoista vietin toimistolla, macaron-leivosta äärellä ja ystävien kanssa. Oli melkoinen superviikko ja yhtäkkiä tunnen kaikkien elämäni osa-alueiden loksahtavan paikoilleen yhtä aikaa! Jännää.
Yllä oli kevyttä ja vaaleaa. Yhdistin ryhdikkään jakkuun liehuvaan kesämekkoon ja virallisuutta peliin toimistorotan ykköstarpeella: äidiltä lainattu läppärilaukku. :)

My birthday swooped past and I filled a total of sixteen years! Getting older becomes less important everytime. I spent my sweet sixteen at the office, with friends and with a plateful of macaron pastries.

I have a fantastic week behind me as my first time as a director at confirmation camp. Being a director is like camp without the boring parts (the actual studying). It was amazing playing games and acting in mini plays during out nightly entertainment hours. I came back with a whole lot of experience and handful of new wonderful friends. Ah! :)

Belgian matkallani kipaistiin Brysselissä, Bryggessä ja tietenkin Tournai'ssa, missä vaihtarimme asuivatkin. Matka oli niin fantastinen, että nyt viikkoja myöhemmin kuvia katsellessani meinaa ihan tulla kosteutta silmäkulmiin kun tässä samalla pohtii peruskoulun päättymistä ja luokka-asteemme hajoamista.

Oli ihana saada elää ja tuntea olonsa eläväksi! Minulla on käsittämättämätön heikkous mahtaville kirkoille ja elämäonihanaa- hetkille, joita koen kun kaikki: maisema, musiikki, ihmiset, ilma ja fiilis, naksahtaa paikoilleen.
Tässä olisi muutama sellainen.

During my trip to Belgium we visited Brussels, Bruges and of course Tournai, where our correspondants live. The trip was so fantastic that now, weeks after, as I peruse through the photos I almost feel a little tear trickling down from the corner of my eye. Since I'm also thinking about a chapter of my life ending now with secondary school coming to an end and everyone from my grade going their separate ways.

I loved being able to really live and feel alive! I have this horrible weakness for magnificent churches and lifeiswonderful- moments, that I have when everything: the scenery, the music, the people, the weather and the mood, falls into place. Here are a couple.

Tänään oli ihana päivä! Sain nukkua myöhään, sillä sain pitkän matikan kurssikokeen takia aamutunnit vapaaksi. Oltiin iltapäivällä kartingissa! Oli niin jännää kiitää pienen pienellä ajoneuvosella ympäri rataa huimaa vauhtia!
Meikitön päivä säästi minulta aamulla vartin ;)

I loved today! I got to sleep in, since due to an ap maths test earlier, I had the morning off. I went kart racing! It was so much fun driving around in a little car round and round.
The no make up day saved me fifteen minutes in the morning ;)

Yliarvostettu, aliarvostettu ja paljon puhuttu Pariisi oli
sanoinkuvaamattoman kaunis.
En voi edes kuvailla sitä hetkeä, kun astuin ulos bussista, enkä oikein ollut varma missä kohtaa olimme.
Nousin portaat ylös ja PUF! siinä se nökötti kaikessa komeudessaan! Aivan uskomatonta, että rautamonumentti voi salpauttaa hengityksen edelleen sillä lailla. Kaikesta miljoona kertaa makeampaa teki se, että olin lempikaupungissani parhaiden ystävieni kanssa!

Overrated, underrated, the frequently in vogue Paris was
indescribably beautiful.
I can't even describe the moment when I hopped off the bus and at first wasn't quite sure where we were.
I skipped up the stairs and BOOM! There it was in all it's glory! I find it amazing, that an iron monument still has the ability to take my breath away like that. The fact that I was in my favorite city was even more amazing with all my best friends around me!

Oli niin fantastista, että raskaan kevään jälkeen pääsi paikkaan, johon on eniten halunut palata ja tuntea siellä ollessaan mieletön unelmafiilis. Joihinkin paikkoihin kiinnittyy, tuntee olonsa kotoisaksi. Minulla niitä on monia, ja Pariisi kuuluu ehdottomasti siihen listaan!

It was fantastic, that after a rough spring I could visit the place I've most wanted to return to and feel an impossible feeling of belonging and living my dreams! You get attached to certain places, feel at home. I have many such places and ol' Paris is definitely one of them!

Vappuani oli suloista viettää keskellä Helsinkiä, ihanat ystävät lähellä. Tuli tutustuttua myös lukuisiin upeisiin ihmisiin! Päässäni kannoin uljasta tiaraa ja puhaltelin vesimelonin tuoksuisia saippuakuplia kun tepasteltiin mukulakivikatuja pitkin. Mahtava ilta!

Here in Finland we had a celebration called the First of May. It was wonderful spending it in the heart of Helsinki with all my closest friends. I also met so many amazing people! I wore a regal tiara and blew watermelon scented bubbles into the atmosphere whilst stepping along the cobblestoned avenues.
A lovely night!

Tänään ei ollut koetta, ähäkutti! :)
Päällä oli jälleen konservatiivisen korkeakauluksinen asu, jota maustivat salmiakkisukat ja narsissit. Valo on saapunut vihdoin keskellemme ja on jotenkin huvittavaa, että se jaksaa joka vuosi ihmetyttää yhtä paljon.
Toivottavasti valo valaisee minua fysiikassa!

Light has arrived and I find it rather amusing, that it never ceases to amaze me each year.

Iloista pääsiäistä kaikille! Oman viikonloppuni vietin mökillä auringonpaisteessa pitkän matematiikan ja sähköfysiikan kera. Vähän tökki, että loma meni näin, mutta ei voi mitään.
IB-pääsykokeet häämöttävät ylihuomenna ja alkaa niin sanotusti kämmenet vähän hikoilla. Hyvin se menee! :)
Anteeksi nyt vielä, mutta tässä olisi jälleen yksi laululintunen kappaleella, jonka kaikki tuntuvat. Kuten puheäänestä kuulee, mörrimöykky asuu edelleen kurkussani. Alku on käsittämättömän järkyttävä, mutta toivottavasti paranee :)

Happy Easter everyone! I spent my weekend at our summer house in the sunshine with higher maths and electricity physics. I'm a tad annoyed that most of my holiday was filled with academics, but what can you do.
The IB entrance exams are getting closer (the day after tommorow) and so to say, my palms are starting to sweat. It'll go fine!
I apologize for yet another songbird, but honestly I haven't got time for anything else right now.
As you can tell, I still have a monster living in my throat. The beginning is indescribably horrible, but hopefully improves :)

Keskiviikkona matikan valtakunnallisen tehtyäni minuun iski uupumus! Jäljellä on kyllä vielä tärkeimmät kokeet, mutta tähän mennessä on kai nyt vähän yli 20sta kokeesta. huh huh.
Pikkupalkinnoksi rakas ystäväni Ella ja minä suuntasimme tennariin katsomaan suomalaisen "Elokuun", joka yllätti totaalisesti. Leffa oli ensimmäinen suomalainen, josta olen pitänyt varmaan vuosiin.
Kesä, haluan sinut nythetiheti! Elokuusta tosiaan sen verran, että pitää olla varautunut yllättäen iskevään kesäkaipuuseen. Elokuun jälkeen vaelsimme autiossa Forumissa puoli yhdeksän aikaa keskiviikko-iltana. (shopping primetime ^.^) Mukaan tosiaan tarttui vain yksi söpö juttu :)

On Wednesday after I had finished my national maths exam, I was totally exhausted! I still have the most important exams ahead of me (next week), but as of this moment, I've survived a little over 20 tests in two months. Phew.
As a little prize, my friend Ella went to see a Finnish (!) film called "August". I never ever watch Finnish films, so this was a pleasant surprise. It was the first Finnish movie I've enjoyed in years.
Summer, I want you nownownow! After the film we went shop-browsing in Forum at half past eight on a Wednesday night (shopping primetime ^.^) I made one supercute purchase :)

{ Ballet Reminiscence }

Baletti oli kymmenen vuoden ajan minulle elämäni tärkein juttu, se asia, minkä eteen tein töitä. Se oli lempiasiani ja edelleen minulle rakkaimpia asioita. Vaikka lopetin lähes kaksi vuotta sitten, kaikki kultaiset ja vähemmän kultaiset muistot jäävät minulle ikuisesti :)
Lempijuttuni oli esiintyminen; sai ilmaista itseään! Ja tottakai kaikki upeat puvut ja tyllit loivat pohjaa muotihulluudelleni. ^^
Joten nyt pidemmittä puheitta (erittäin huonosti, editointiohjelman armoilla editoitu) balettivlogi!

For ten years, ballet was the most important thing in my life, the thing I worked for. It was my favorite and still today, one of the dearest things to me. Even though I quit nearly two years a go, all the golden and not so golden memories are with me forever :)
My favorite aspect of ballet was definitely performing: being able to express myself on stage was reason enough. And of course the beautiful costumes and tulle made way for my fashion obsession. ^^
So without further a due the (very poorly edited) ballet vlog!

Nyt baletin lopettaneena, luulisi, ettei minulle jäänyt tästä käteen muuta kuin muistoja. Itseasiassa baletti opetti minulle uskomatonta työmoraalia ja kasvatti minut henkisesti vahvaksi ihmiseksi. Lisäksi hyvä peruskunto ja vapaus mässyttää lähes mitä tahansa lihomatta on ihan mukavaa ^^
Mikäli en olisi koskaan tehnyt sen määrän töitä, minkä tein, olisin varmasti nykyään aivan eri ihminen. Jos harkitset baletin aloittamista, en voi suositella sitä enempää!
Vaikka aloittaisikin myöhemmällä iällä ihan harrastusmielessä, tanssin ilo ja hyvät arvot oppii vanhempanakin.

Now, after quitting you might think that ballet left me with nothing but memories. Actually ballet taught me an incredible work morale and brought me up into a strong person. Also a good basic fitness condition and having the freedom to munch on pretty much anything without gaining weight is a nice plus ^^
If I hadn't done all the work I did, I would most likely be a very different person today.
So if you're thinking about taking up ballet, I totally recommend it! Even if you'd be starting at a later age just in a hobby sense, the joy of dancing and good values will be learned even at an older age.

Myönnän, se oli välillä aivan tuhottoman kamalaa ja vaikeaa. Aika ajoin tanssisali tuntui vankilalta, eikä turvapaikalta. Halusin viettää aikaa ystävieni kanssa, enkä jatkaa loputtomiin piqué-piruetteja. Välillä minua inhottaa se, kuinka helpoksi ja kepeäksi baletti mielletään. Mielestäni se on raskaimpia lajeja, mitä on.
Mutta niiiiiin uskomattoman palkitsevaa ja ihanaa.

I admit, sometimes ballet was absolutely horrible and difficult. From time to time the danse studio felt more like a prison than a shelter. I wanted to spend time with my friends instead of doing piqué-pirouettes endlessly. Sometimes I'm annoyed by how easy and light ballet is imagined to be.
In my opinion it is one of the most laborious sports there are.
But it is sooooo rewarding and wonderful.

Lopettamisesta sen verran, että vaikka se oli vaikeaa, minun oli pakko tehdä se. Kehoni ei kestänyt niin rankkaa treenausta enää, enkä halunnut olla kolmekymppisenä raajarikko. Lisäksi elämässäni ei ollut aikaa millekkään muulle. Nykyään ehdin tehdä ja harrastaa vaikka vallan mitä, ja kokeisiin lukemistakaan ei ole pakko aloittaa yhdeltätoista (usein kyllä ihan vapaaehtoisesti...)

About quitting; it was difficult, but I had to do it. My body couldn't handle the strenuous training and I didn't want to be a cripple at age 30. In addition I didn't have time for anything else.
Nowadays I have time to do some much! And it isn't mandatory for me to start studying for exams and 11 (nowadays it's just a free choice ^^)...

Ajattelin aloittaa tämmöisen laululintusarjan, jossa lauleskelen aina vähän väliä. Tänään vuorossa Coldplayn The Scientist samalla kun nielutulehdus puskee päälle.
Tätä kirjoittaessa muutamaa tuntia myöhemmin ymmärrän, että tuo lauleskelu ei ollutkaan paras idea...

Teistä saattaa ehkä yksi muistaa, kuinka vuonna 2008 täällä ilmoitin, etten koskaan tule pitämään eläinkuvioista.
Toisin kävi.
Se lähti siitä, kun The Blonde Saladin Chiaralla ja The Glamourain Kellylla oli molemmilla yksi superihana hame. Aluksi pyörin aikani Zaran nettisivuilla ja luovutin. Seuraavana päivänä eksyinkin sitten Aleksin Zaraan ja yhtäkkiä hame odotti minua Jumbossa. Siis lentokentällä. Kyllä, vietin kolme tuntia torstaistani matkoihin, jotta voisin omistaa tämän hameen. Ja se on leopardikuosia! :O
13-vuotias Maria nyyhkyttää pettyneenä.
15-vuotias Maria hihittelee onnessaan! Vihdoinkin minun!!

I don't think any one of you remembers that in 2008 I told you guys (here) that I will never grow to like animal prints.
Oops.
It all started, when Chiara from The Blonde Salad and Kelly from The Glamourai both has this superchic skirt.
First I browsed the Zara website and gave up. The suddenly the next day I was at Zara on Alexander Street and in a moment, I had a skirt waiting for me next to the airport. Yes, the airport. I spent 3 hours of my Thursday evening on busrides, only so I could own this lovely skirt. And it's leopard print! :O
The 13 year old Maria is weeping.
